'monday' morning commentary

this sunday was a bit different... because I taught the jr. high and high school girls.

it was the last message in the Go Clean campaign. so naturally i covered the topics of self image, modesty, and sexual choices.

when Luke asked me if I would do it, i honestly thought, 'gosh, i can't do this.' but, when i got down to how important these subjects are I realized it's better received woman to woman & that i could use God's Word as the truth.... being only the messenger. so i humbly accepted... knowing God doesn't need some special messenger but he can even use me.

i used three passages... two from my favorite book 1 Peter:

2:9 "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

3:3-4 "Do not let your adorning be merely external, the braiding of hair, the wearing of gold, the putting on of clothing, but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious."

and then 1 Corinthians 6:18-19.
'Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.'

I believe God used it and for that i am grateful. Most of all I learned three things about my husband and his work:
1. i have so much more compassion on him as far as bringing a message to people weekly and the weight that that holds.
2. speaking is like a whole body experience... you are wiped after wards.
3. being a pastor is hard hard work.

didn't know i could love the man more. so thankful for the people we do ministry with and for.:)
blessed,
kg
