seeing double ... cont.

so, last year i wrote this post.

yesterday, after naptime i went to get my boys and reid was doing this:

and carter was doing this:

and i was seeing the double in live form.

i was like...
how did i end up with two boys
that are already 2 1/2 & 9 months
that are smiling at each other
and making me laugh
and driving me crazy
and asking me a million questions
and teething like there's no tomorrow but no teeth are coming...

all i know is that time is passing and i'm seeing double and it's moving fast and i'm trying to enjoy it and not get too much gray hair in the process. because i've got two little boys:)

carter picked out his birthday present yesterday.

luke brought it inside while we were watching tv and carter was in bed.

carter & the trike will re-unite next monday.

until then, i couldn't resist.... he needed a ride;)

what are big brothers for?

when i found out i was having a boy for #2 i thought ahead to high school when i dreamed of them being best buds, sharing friends and hopefully that reid would be able to see a good example in his older brother...

then i began thinking of the adjustment that would take place for carter and prayed a lot that he would adjust well...
let me allow pictures to tell the rest of the story...


this was in the hospital.... excitement mixed with uncertainty.


this was at home when he was happy about the balloons that came with him but not so sure about 'baby.' can't you tell by his body language?!


this was in the first month that reid was home. he put his doggie slipper by him and kept yelling at him to 'dance, dance' [one of carter's favorite pastimes] can you tell that reid had a mind of his own?




this was on vacation but seems to be a regular occurence... when reid is crying he feels the need to not only take the paci out of his mouth but lay on top of him too... i mean, of course that's what big brothers are for...

so, how was i supposed to know... i'm the baby of the family?! these were the things that were done to me... yet i was never told about;)
