in my kitchen.

so last night i tried a new recipe.
and it was so easy, i didn't think it could be good.
i was nervous.
i thought, my kids and my man are going to take two bites and laugh in my face.
carter was too good for it but that's because he's testing me about EVERYTHING.
did i mention everything?

with a husband who likes a hearty meal and two boys who make food disappear as though it was never even there... i need good recipes.

and this is one.

it was so good, my husband loved it and reid couldn't eat enough. he even ate carter's slice.
it's..... drum roll please:)

Easy Chicken Pot Pie. [it's from the cook book that hbc pastor's wives made w/tried and true recipes-hooray for that!]

4 ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen mixed veggies (i bought a bag with peas, green beans, corn, and carrots)
- 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken breasts or thighs (i used two and it had plenty of meat in it)
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 ready made pie crust (i bought two jiffy pie crust boxes and made them - all you do is add water... don't cook them before .. it just cooks as you make the pot pie and they were perfect)

Directions: mix first three ingredients, place in pie shell, and cover with pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Cover edge of crust for the last 15 minutes.

I served it with uncle ben's rice. it's not an every week kind of meal but it's worth a try for these cold, dark winters that are closer to us than next summer.;)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i'm headed out to a bachelorette party tonight so the boys are home for dinner.
lucky for me, pity for them.
but i wanted to put dinner in so that the mister didn't have to get dinner figured out too.
so... this is another SUPER EASY recipe that is handed down from my mother. and it's SOOO good. and did i mention easy?

it's chicken wings (although i bought a bag of drumsticks instead)

3 ingredients:
- 8 oz. of ketchup
- 1/8 cup Worcester sauce
- 1/2-3/4 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Mix together & pour over chicken wings {or put in a big Ziploc and refrigerate for a few hours to marinate]. Cook at 400 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

other than that i wanted to pass along another blog that i have recently subscribed to. it's a great idea and it's all about cooking. check it out!

i hope you eat well today,
kg:)
