first post of the day: happy - week 3

For some odd reason my computer wouldn't allow me to get on to our blog yesterday.... so here i am a day late:)

Luke preached on Matthew 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy."

He talked briefly about that verse and then ventured over into Matthew 18 starting in verse 21 where Jesus lays out a clear parable for us about mercy. A servant owed his master tons, i mean tons of money. he begged his master to allow him to forgive him the debt and shockingly the master agreed. but later that day the servant seized a man who owed him some money and wouldn't forgive him the debt. sad, huh?! but a perfect picture of us a lot of times, sad also. Jesus paid a debt we couldn't pay by dying on the cross for us but yet there are times where (both legit and illegit things keep us from forgiving others).

Key Sentence: Because of the radical forgiveness extended to us; we have the responsiblity to extend extreme forgiveness to others.

this is hard. really hard. but, with God all things are possible- even forgiveness.
Truth is good for my soul,
kg:)
