Go Clean... Identity

After reading another pastor's wife's blog... I LOVED that she would tell about her husband's sermon every week and some of the key statements he made. So I've decided, I'll do the same...

We are in a year full of sermons relating to how we can be reflectors of Jesus Christ based on 2 Corinthians 4:6.7. Lately, we are in a series called Go Clean; it emphasizes the importance of living a life not based on a list of do's and don'ts but a simple but difficult pledge to Jesus Christ of Going Clean.

Identity. Who to this day does not struggle with this topic? He took us to Galatians 6:11-20, where Paul describes the marks he has as a follower of Christ; H=he has them both literally and figuratively. What are the marks on my life known for?

So... here's 5 things that we can be defined by instead of or more so than Jesus Christ.
1. People Pleasing.
2. By what we look like
3. By what we are good at (i.e. sports, grades)
4. by what we have (own)
5. by not caring

So... it leaves us with the question: What are you defined by? How are you going to change in order for your life to be FULLY marked by Jesus Christ?!

Loved this quote...You can have a life that's free from trying to 'try hard' in Christ.'

Be Tattooed today by the marks of Jesus Christ... i am.
